By popular demand my moon mission poster. Print at 75dpi results in
a 19" x 60" poster with the earth being 10" in diameter. Please
note the rest of the poster is not in scale with the Earth. To
put poster to proper scale, the moon should be reduced to 2 3/4" in
diameter, and placed 26' 9" away from the surface of the earth. The
earth orbit and moon orbit trajectories should be around 1/16" away
from the surface of the respective celestial bodies. For further
reference, the orbit of the international space station would be about
3/16" away from the surface of the earth, and a trip to Mars at its
closest would require one to place Mars roughly 2 miles away. Now
thats in proper perspective. - Jon

In the early days of Apollo. Von Braun and Co. had thought
that two back-to-back launches of rockets that were based on a
cluster of redstone and titan bodies would work. With that in
mind the Engineers at NASA developed the predecessor of the
Saturn V, the Saturn I. Here is the Saturn SA-5.

the Mercury Space Program. Before Astronauts went into space
the Rockets were tested with Monkeys. Here is their spacesuit. Thanks

Lars would like to share his Saturn 1B model of the
ASTP. The apollo soyuz test program signified the beginning
of the end of the cold war. If you ever had a doubt about the
value of the early space program this program should make anyone
realize the bargain the Apollo Program was in $$$ savings to this

One of the things Nasa Engineers were challenged to do in the 1960's
was to be creative on the use of their technology. Steve A. has realized in
paper one of those lesser known thoughts: the Big Gemini. Here the engineers
designed an expanded Gemini capsule for up to 12 people, moon missions, and
space station ferries. Thanks Steve for this wonderful design in 1:96 scale

After the moon race, the USSR wasn't ready to concede defeat entirely. The
follow up to the Moon race was the space station competition. Again the Russians
had the early lead with their Salyut space station (followed up by Mir, and eventually
the ISS.) However the USA was not going to leave the field without its entry, Skylab.
John J. has graciously allowed us to host his version of Skylab.

1960's as a pre-cursor to the shuttle. You may remember this craft from the news clip that was shown

to America developed Rockets for the Germans. This is the A9/A10 "Amerika" rocket
designed to bomb New York from Germany. For rocket design it was way ahead of its

Standing nearly 8 feet tall this model completes the famous detail kit of Greelt for all. And who

Did you know that we landed a spacecraft on Venus and it actually took photographs of the terrain?
The temperature on Venus was so hot that the Soviet Union couldn't use Lead in their solder for the wires on
the spacecraft because the air temerature would melt the soldering. Thanks to Csaba B. for making this model
available for all.
